The shot glasses were empty, so we were all set to discover the number of shots in a 1.75 liter bottle.
This 1.75 liter bottle of Smirnoff vodka was $16.99.
It filled 41 shots!
A 1.75 liter bottle is 59 ounces, and that fills 41 shotglasses to the brim... which, in this case was 1.4 ounces, at a cost of 41¢ per shot.
Vodka shots were an even worse idea than the tequila shots.
It wasn't long until we were also drinking beer and wine.
Which was followed by the fog machine and laser pointers.
I'm not really clear on what happened next, but I'm sure there was some dancing, and at least a few casualties.
It was a long night.
Although a strict accounting of the vodka shots was never recovered, we found almost half of the shotglasses, and those were definitely empty.
Through a round of strategic interviews Facebook posts, we were able to determine that while it is reasonable to serve 2.5 liters of hard liquor at a party,
you shouldn't attempt to serve it in shots.
Notes:
- For this project, the big bottle of vodka revealed the square root of vodka: $16.99 = 41¢ x 41 shots.
- The shots of vodka turned out to be exactly half the price of the tequila shots. (41¢ vs. 82¢) due to the higher price of Cuervo and the economy-sized bottle of vodka.
