Dear Rob

as your site warns of Mr Russell Gain and the work from home I thought I'd pass this URL onto you as well...

(really long jobsite URL omitted).

Hi, Rob:
I so agree with you!
It was so nice to see your website right after I received a spam mail message from Global Online Systems!
I have lost lots of money trying to find the best and easiest work-at-home business. However, I haven't found all of them to be the same company, Herbalife. Doesn't matter - many are scams ... too many! I sent a letter, including your initial webpage ... perhaps they'll be as curious as I was to see what you had to say and click into your following pages.

Here is a copy of the letter, I just wrote to Monster.ca - the online job site I use in my job search in Canada. My automatic job search agent reported this job opportunity to me today and I thought a job search website as big as Monster should have better policies as to how to run the site.

<<Here's something you should be made aware of:

http://www.cockeyed.com/workfromhome/workfromhome_s.html

Please read what this young man has to say about such job advertisements as this one posted on Monster.ca on Nov 24th: "Nov 24 22:50:26, People wanted to WORK ONLINE using their computers, CA-ON-Ottawa".

This is not the type of thing job seekers are looking for. I have investigated a number of these offers myself and have not made any money - only lost time and money. When you're looking for a job, losing time and money is not a good thing.

I should think that an organization such as Monster, would screen the job postings better than this. These are scams. If you are not aware that they are scams, you should hire people to investigate the postings before making them available to the general public. Please help job seekers find legitimate job offers instead of setting them up for a horrible experience!

Thanks for listening.

Anyway, I don't know what you can do with this information, but I thought I'd just let you know there are people out there that think the same as you.

Have a great day, Rob and keep up the good work -- by the way, I have seen many of those signs on your website in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and even in many small towns in Eastern Ontario, Canada.

Sincerely,

Dawne-M
Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada

Rob,
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I had made the phone call and was moments from writing a check for my "Decision Making Packet" (now at $45) when I stumbled upon your site. I will be forwarding this message to everyone I know.
Thanks again for your article and saving me $45 bucks.

Dear Rob

Your article exposing "Global Online Systems" as Herbalife, Saved me not only money but embarrassment and frustration!!!
I was searching around on Monster.ca for new career possibilities and this home based business kept popping up. I had seen signs and my inbox is flooded daily with taunts of making your fortune by working from home. I was feeling a little desperate financially as Christmas is just around the corner so I clicked on the website. Of coarse it was everything I wanted to hear, I was so close to sending the $39.95 to get the "decision" package! Although something was telling me that this wasn't right, at the same time if all these "success story people" were making money why couldn't I get in on it.
I decided than to do a quick search to see what I could find out about the company. I looked it up on google and the 4th link down was yours. It caught my eye immediately and I have just finished reading the whole thing!
Thank you so much for doing the research and making it available to the public. I will tell everyone I know and send your website to all my friends.

Thanks again!

What you did is superb. I thought Global online systems might be a scam. Hence, I searched the search engine for details on it. I hope many have seen your page before signing up.

Catherine

Rob,

I've just been reading your article on herbalife and how it works.

How long ago did you write this?? I have recently become a distributor and all the figures are way too high!!!
I was not sent various info packs with no info in them, instead i was taken to a meeting where everything was explained to me. I then bought into the company at the cost of £115 - this is a non-profit pack that gives you all the info you need to start your company plus the products.

Once you start taking the products its easy to sell - because you realise they do really work they increase your energy and can make you lose, gain or maintain your weight depending on what you do.

Obviously it may be different process because i am in england - but its all done by the same company.

You should also look at the board of scientific advisors (file attached) The top guys at Disney and Nokia have also just joined Herbalife to start the branding process so you will be hearing a lot more about us over the next few years.

Also note that this company made 2billion dollors profit last year - they're definately doing something right!!!

Dear Rob,
Why do you trash Herbalife and Global Online Systems without trying the products or experiencing the business. I do not think you would like me to compomise your business with unfounded information. The business has been very good to me and all the people I have dealt with in GOS and Herbalife are upfront and honest people. I am a nurse by profession and I have found that the products deliver what they promise safely and for all people. I hope there are websites out there telling people to not pay attention or go to your website but I do not think people would spend money on you...you are not worth it. I hope you can sleep at night trashing businesses without facts.
Your problem is in Sacramemto.....don't trash all of us...my municipality has rules governing puting up fliers and there are fines.
There are all kinds of marketing strategies out there and you can not be proud of yours!
I believe you need to apologize to all of us in the business who are honest people who sell the product because we know what it will do and believe in it and share the business with othere because we know people will be successful. We are trained to give good service to everyone!

Man...I first have to just THANK you so Much for the time, effort, intensive investigation, and intelligent WRITING about HERBAL life....I ONCE again....followed the links to this "stay at home " thing on internet...read for over 25 minutes never found a company name..and so then Left..unbuying of course as I do have a brain...and figure if they are 'hiding" their product SOO well I don't want to be a part of it.
I remember once in my previous life (ex husband was in Marine Corp in Jacksonville N,C.)...and he had a HUGE inspection the next morning. That meant HOURS of prep time on uniform etc....and one did NOT skimp on preparation, so this meant if we went to this "new friend"s house he'd be up for hours afterwards......and a Couple had invited us over to their house, we knew them from Jacksonville Baptist Church. I was from Michigan, and newly married , and desperate for Friends..and just Really NEEDED to go over to their house..and hopefully establish a friendship. WELLLLLLL......about 15 minutes after we got there...JUST feeling comfortable...DING DONG...doorbell rings..and in walks dude in suit with easel....I thought WHAT THE HECK????? Got SUCKERED into a three hour presentation (this was Amway...in 1981) ...and then later realized HOW RUDE inconsiderate, Dishonest and yes even they Lied to us!! SOOO many of these schemes are like that...(he also wouldn't tell us the product tilll WAYYYYYY later in the "program". They took complete advantage of us, under false pretenses...sheeesh..I was SO mad then...and continue to remember being embarrassed and suckered in and the feeling was NOT pleasant.
WE were SO tight for money...and Yes ...walked out of there promising to pay 35 dollars a week for forever...
after a couple days...a LIGHT bulb went on..I called the suit and told him to come and get his crap...and OOH man...THEN did I get another "speeel''..but I told him I would call the Base Commander...and SUDDENLY..he didn't want to lose all the other possible suckers wives that were out there.
YOURS is the first place I have found that helps expose these SHYSTERS for what they are...they are sucking off the tit of society..and foisting impossible demands on people who can't afford the money.
OK< I have ranted long enough....
Thanks again for your EXCELLENT expose...really enjoyed it...a great and truthful Read. Sorry its so long but there's sooo much more I could say...

Rob,

Hi. My name is Adam. I'm 24 and I live in Ft. Worth, TX. I just want to thank you for publishing this information on the Internet or I would be out alot of money. I was a day away from investing in the Global Online Systems thing when my parents called expressing their concerns about it being a scam or just full of holes. I paid the $39 for the decision package and a guy from Canada called me to tell me about it. I was on the phone with him and his "mentor" when they told me that they market Herbalife. That should have made me think right there, but it didn't. I'm one of those people who is a little too trusting when it comes to business. I really need to cut that out! lol They wanted $379 for the startup package and I said I needed a month to save up.
Anyway, my parents called yesterday(I hadn't told them about it until Thanksgiving Day) with concern saying that no matter what they say, you have to spend loads of cash and call alot to try to make money, at the same time try to recruit other people. Network Marketing. I decided to investigate and found your web site. Now that I know the truth, I'm not going to call the guy. He's waiting for me to call with the money. Let him wait...and wait. I don't know how useful this will be, but here is my "mentor's" name and info:

Full Name: Francis and Susan Jooste
Company: Global Online Systems

Business Address: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Web Page: http://www.maximizefreedom.com
Anyway, thanks again.
Sincerely,

Adam I.
God, get a life!!!
Majority of Herbalife Distributors are just trying to earn a buck and get themselves either out of debt or just to get ahead. For me I do this because I want to be there for my kids to pick them up from school and not work for some slave driver who won't let me have the day off when the kids are sick. In Australia, it is illegal to put signs on telegraph poles, street lights and the like and we only put posters on approved community boards. My flyers go into letter boxes or into people hands. If they don't have the decency to respect their environment and put them in the recycling bill that is not my problem.
Most of us are good hard working people and like any industry their are the people who are cold hard sellers giving us a bad name. You knock how much it is for us to get started in the this business, have you checked out how much for example a newsagency or a lawn mowing business or franchise is to buy and how much you would spend on running it profitably and advertising. I think you are just angry at the signs and junk that you find which is OK but do you have to start a whole web site!!!
Relax a little and let us get on with our businesses.
Megan Baker

Hi Rob
I just wanted to thank you for your write-up on this company. I was looking for legitimate work and I think it's very dishonest of these companies to misrepresent themselves.
I read your articles before having to go through further frustration...I'm sure once I finally found all this out I would have opted out.
Thanks for saving me some time!
Martina

Rob

Thank you for your enlightning internet area on Herbalife mlm.

Saturday my interest in Herbalife started when I signed up for WeatherBug (local) and "work at home" was the sponsor I selected. When I learned it was Herbalife mlm, I suspected as much as I studied its structure and pricing. A keyword search for Herbalife surfaced nearly 600,000 websites. Saturation, or at least considerable competition looked very likely. Clearly advertising, demand and ultmate pricing is a major challenge for this product.

I have my first followup phone call with the mentor Monday evening (no commitment yet). I had plenty of questions for him. Now I have some more (as well as a stronger case to walk away!). Thanks and God bless you for your insight and service,

John S., Indianapolis

Thanks so much for your story! I was laid off from my job in June and have been seeking employment. I kept receiving different “work from home” positions available from Monster.com and they all linked to “Global Online Systems” which prompted my google search. There I found your story and I do appreciate the $ saved from my dwindling pockets! Take care and I’ll remove those offending signs from the Hampton Roads Virginia area too!
Michelle
Congratulations! You made it to the end of the letters I got in November, 2003.

If you are like me, you'll agree that these are like ebay feedback: The negative ones are more interesting to read.
