Hazelnuts

Hazelnuts are the nut of a strong, dense little bush. They have a distinct taste.

They are also known as "Filberts".

They are very attractive to the eye, and it is always tempting to eat them before they are ripe. Unfortunately, before they ripen they are terribly bitter, lending them the name "Witch Hazel Nuts".

On Christmas day, the thin, metallic nut cover begins to peel away from the shell, and hazelnuts are ready for harvesting, but not yet ready to eat.

Inside, there is a single whole roasted hazelnut and creamy chocolate filling inside a light crispy wafer, wrapped in milk chocolate.
