The CFL Bandit Strikes at Fresh Choice

After protecting his hands from the hot bulbs, he removed and replaced all four with much more efficient compact fluorescent lighting.

Mission accomplished!

So, while the CFL bandit was in the men's bathroom, two funny things happened, which I present below.

The Brown Out Chronicles

We thought we were alone, but after about four minutes we realize there was a guy in one of the stalls the whole time. A moment later, there was a knock on the door.
"Alex!? Are you in there?!" A woman's voice.
"Yeah!! Just a minute!" A man's voice yelled back.
"Alex?!"
"YEAH! JUST A MINUTE!" he yelled back again, then in a lower voice, to us, "Jesus!, can't a guy take a crap in peace?"

The CFL bandit and I were laughing. Neither of us could believe this was happening. Hilarious.
Back into the bathroom for the final photographs, one stall was occupied by a guy whose phone started ringing. He quickly answered it. What a terrible mistake that was. The conversation, and it sounded business-related, was punctuated by number two sounds and the whooosh of industrial-strength toilets flushing. These were impossible for the person on the other end of the line to miss. If it were me, I would have given some excuse to get off of the phone, but this guy kept talking. Awesome!

Before the CFL bandit, this quadruple light fixture was burning 400 watts every hour, for 12 hours a day. That's 33 kilowatts per week, at a cost of $3.96 per week in electricity costs... just for this one fixture!

The new bulbs use 22 Watts each, for a total of 88 Watts, which is just 7 kilowatts per week, or 77 cents per week.

This one visit from the CFL bandit is going to save that restaurant $165 per year! No wonder the kids love him!
