The boss buys dinner a few times before the fair opens. Sitting down, talking and eating with everyone is the best part of the job. Jason surveys the food from above and prepares to strike. |

The food vendors come in a few days before opening. Here is the syrup collection from a shaved ice hut. |

Throwing out all the old paint and detritus from the construction. This is a concrete symbol of being finished with the job. |

Jason and Michael mounted information sheets and photographs on foamcore for more than an entire day, producing a mountain of signs for the displays. |

The solid granite ball is engraved with the names of the people that died in the attacks on September 11th, 2001. The design of the fountain allows people to move the ball around, so they can see all of the names. It is tempting to see how fast you can make it spin. I'm sure a lot of kids are going to get scolded for playing here. |

On August 15th, the fair opened, and visitors finally make their way inside to see what we've built.
