MySpace Friends Auction Introduction

Recently, I had the pleasure of introducing hundreds of Cockeyed.com readers to my wife Stacy's MySpace account. I asked them to "add her" as a friend on their accounts, and they did! It was great! Every time she logged-on to her account, she had a pile of new friend "adds".

Stacy loved it! and I thought it was fantastic!

Sure, these weren't the kind of friends that would invite you over to use their pool, or give you the heads-up on a plush desk job at StateNet, but they were friends! They are friendly, and helpful and a flood of their little MySpace picture icons are filling her friends column.

It was an awesome experience, and I'd like your help to bring that same experience to someone else. More specifically, the highest bidder.

I'm selling friends. On MySpace.

On Thursday, June 1st, I will start the bidding on an auction for "100 new friends on MySpace".

The first thing I need to do, in order to pull this off, is to organize 100 MySpacers who are ready, willing and able to invite this lucky auction winner into their cache of friends.

To encourage 100 friendly volunteers, I'm offering more than my heartfelt thanks. I'm offering a link on cockeyed.com to your MySpace account. I'm going to set up a new MySpace directory page on cockeyed.com, which will be known as "A Fruitful Bounty of Awesome MySpacers" (AFBAMS) . If you volunteer to deliver on my "100 friends" promise, I'll put a screenshot of your MySpace page, including a link to your Space from AFBAMS.

What I want from you:

1) If you are interested, sign up by sending an email to rob at cockeyed.com with the subject line "Any friend of yours". Include a link to your Myspace page.

2) Check out www.cockeyed.com for a link to www.cockeyed.com/ebay/myspace/afbams.shtml, and try out the link there, to your Myspace account.

3) Watch for the beginning and the end of the 100 Friends on MySpace Auction, Thursday, June 1st - Wednesday June 7th.

4) At the end of the auction, await my email for the name & site of the winner, or visit www.cockeyed.com/ebay/myspace/winner.shtml and meet your new friend!

5) Quickly send him or her an invitation to be your new friend!

And that is it! I have no idea who will bid on such a thing, but I am excited to see how it goes.

You must have a MySpace account to participate. They are free if you really, really want in on this.

I'll really need to deliver 100 friends if I sell them, so please don't sign up if you don't intend to follow through.
