 When
I asked Cockeyed.com readers "Where can you find a Day Laborer?",
residents of many cities responded.
"Day Laborers" are men who are prepared to labor
for cash. I've seen them hang out on one particular corner in
Sacramento. In other cities, apparently the Home Depot parking lot is
a favorite spot, and the Craigslist
"gigs" category is also a good place to find helping hands on a
projec t.
I'd also like to mention that even the
Home Depot stores in Peru have day laborers in front of them. They also have
private truck rentals available and sometimes a few security guards with
rifles on the roof.
