Yesterday my imaginary friend Todd from CNN was complaining about his employees wasting time on the internet, and he was particularly cross at walking past their cubes, just in time to glimpse a flash of minimized MySpace, Snopes or Cockeyed.com.
Coincidentally, on the same day, my imaginary friend Sarah at Scottrade complained that her monitor at work faces exactly the wrong direction for private web surfing, motivating her to embark upon a routine of fakes and charades to read and comment on her daily rounds of entertainment news at work. I imagine that this cat-and-mouse game is played out in offices across America and the world. How is it played in your office? |
