Pecans

Pecans are yet another kind of nut.

Like walnuts, they are large and brain-shaped, but pecans are slightly better tasting.

Also known as "Dilberts", they are high in zinc. You know you are scratching the bottom of the barrel when you have to advertise how much zinc you contain.

Pecans are the only tree nuts native to North America, and they are particularly plentiful in the Southern states.

Many varieties of pecan are named for Native American Indian Tribes, including Cheyenne, Mohawk, Sioux, Choctaw and Shawnee. The name "pecan" comes from the Algonquin word meaning "a tough nut to crack".
