Almonds

Almonds are a very popular nut. They are also known as "Hilberts". I have always considered almonds to be the hard-workers' snack, because you can eat them without your hands getting messy.

Like peanuts and truffles, almonds are harvested in shallow earth plots. The almonds are connected in pairs to a small chocolate pad called a "Joy".

They are only found in flat patches of land. Mounds never contain almonds.

The joys are hand-cultivated, as required by law.

As late as 1991, insane California farmers experimented with powerful almond harvesters. Even with their protective donut pads, these almond harvesters shook the hell out of the central valley, and were blamed for three devastating earthquakes.
