What is the Difference between a Car that gets 25 mpg and one that gets 26 mpg?

What is the difference between a car that gets 25 mpg and one that gets 26 mpg?

Obviously, the car that gets slightly better gas mileage will be a little less expensive to operate, but how much less expensive?

If both cars are driven 15,000 miles per year, the 25 mpg car will burn 600 gallons getting there.

The other car, the one getting 26 miles per gallon, will use a little less gas: 577 gallons.

At $3.03 per gallon, that 23 gallon savings is equal to $70 per year.
