In the month before the California State Fair begins at Cal Expo, teams of people build the displays in the California Building. Some of the counties of California have magnificent displays in this building, Sacramento County is one of them.

Check out this photo of their display. That yellow column is very tall, appearing to support the red "Sacramento" ribbon across the top. I think this display is the best county display this year.

Speaking of ribbons, here is a photo of the four ribbons the Sacramento County display snagged.

Alameda county is also awesome, but I'm biased.

Anyway, while Richard Bay's crew was building the Sacramento display, the yellow columns appeared to be a little too tall, so they cut 28 inches off of each column.

This auction is for the two 28" sections they cut off of the columns. These two triangular columns are made from wood, painted a bright gold color.

They are pictured here next to a 5 gallon watercooler bottle for scale.

These could be nice stands for the right display, maybe with two serving trays or a shelf across the top.

The two columns are made from ¼" plywood with 1"x 4" supports. They measure 12" on a side and are 28" tall. The seams are a little ragged, with rips up to 4" long. They are a little dingy too.
